From manga to anime to star-powered Hollywood blockbuster, the first look at director Rupert Sanders' Ghost in the Shell is here.

The adaptation controversially stars Scarlett Johansson as The Major, a human-cyborg construct that fights the worst of the criminal underworld as the head of an elite task force, Section 9. Even in a post-Doctor Strange world, this one looks pretty trippy.

Ghost in the Shell arrives in theaters on March 31, 2017.
