You Can Now Get Free PS4 Games From Sony

Sony has launched a new initiative called Play At Home. Which is a play on the Stay At Home message being pushed during the COVID-19 pandemic. And the first thing Sony is doing as part of this initiative is giving everyone two free games.

That’s right, Sony is giving two free games away to anyone with a PlayStation 4. And it doesn’t matter whether or not you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber. And, unlike some of the games Sony has previously given away with PS Plus, these titles aren’t duds.

How to Get Two Free PS4 Games From Sony

As announced in a post on the PlayStation Blog, the Play At Home initiative has two components. One is aimed at gamers, and the other is aimed at independent developers. And both are designed to make life a little easier as we all tackle coronavirus.

First up are the aforementioned free games, with Sony giving away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey for free to all PS4 owners. With the exception of China and Germany, where Knack 2 and Journey will be available for free.

The games will be available for free as digital downloads from 8pm PDT on April 15 through to 8pm PDT on May 5. Once you nab the games, they’re yours to keep. However, downloads may take longer than usual due to Sony’s traffic management efforts.

The second element of Play At Home is a $10 million fund earmarked for indie developers. This is an attempt to help Sony’s development partners make it through the current crisis without going bust. And Sony is promising to reveal more information soon.

More PlayStation 4 Games Worth Playing

Both Journey and Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection are excellent titles. However, if you’re stuck at home all day you’ll probably make light work of them both. In which case you should check out the best PS4 exclusives and the best PS4 games for kids too.
